As an non-government organisation fundraising is an essential action to secure the necessary funds to provide the unique in design and delivery. Services at SRS such as transport; accommodation; infrastructure maintenance & repairs and development of Benetook Farm, do not receive government funding and exist on donations and fundraising alike.

Our annual fundraisers prove to be a combination of great company, laughter and good times. Our main events include Benetook Under the Stars (BUTS), Annual Pizza Cafe’ Auction Night and the Annual Monster Garage Sale.

If you would like to hold an event on behalf of SRS or to help raise funds for our community then we would love to hear from you! Below are some ideas to get you started!

Create a challenge

Challenge yourself to do something out of the ordinary – 10k steps a day, no coffee for a month, kayak down the Murray or shave your head!

Host an event

Get together to have fun and raise funds - have a morning tea at work, a sausage sizzle, have a raffle or host a trivia night!

*Please note that all ideas must be approved by SRS and to begin fundraising you must have an official approval letter from the organisation stating so.*

Gift in Lieu 

Donations in lieu of gifts are a memorable way to celebrate your special event - such as a birthday, wedding, or anniversary. By asking your family or friends to donate a gift you can make a lasting difference and lessen the impact of disability in the lives of local children, young people and adults who live with disabilities.

Bequest

A bequest is a gift made in a Will, which in turn is a legal document specifying how a person wishes his or her property to be distributed after they die. A gift can include money, shares, jewellery, houses and a range of other items.

How can I leave a bequest?

Leaving a bequest in your will is easy. The following simple statement in your will ensures your wishes are carried out:

I give and bequeath the sum of $_____ (*or alternatively a specific gift or percentage of estate can be given) to SRS Inc to be paid free of all duty and to be applied for the general purposes of the organisation. I declare the receipt of the Chief Executive Officer or other proper officer of SRS Inc shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.’

SRS recommends you obtain legal advice when making or amending a will.

I already have a will, and want to add my bequest to SRS Inc. 

If you want to add a bequest to your will, you can simply add a supplement which sets out your instructions for a bequest.
