Respite and School Holiday Programs

SRS provides a full range of respite options to assist children, youth, adults and carers.

Respite options are created to meet individual needs, including:
  • Facility Based - Supported accommodation for up to six weeks each year
  • Outreach evenings - Weekly group activates & outings
  • Holidays - Fully supported trips visiting locations outside the Sunraysia region
  • In your own home - Individualised support services
  • Community Day Programs - 1 day per week
  • Individual services designed to suit your needs

Respite Care

SRS Respite facility provides short break accommodation for up to eight people per night.  The facility accommodates school aged children through to the elderly.  Carers receive a break and people enjoy the social environment of others when staying at Respite.

After School Care

SRS Respite

The After School Care Service operates from 3.00pm to 6.00pm each weekday during school terms for 40 weeks of the year. The service provides an extensive program of creative and recreational experiences for the children. Individual programs are designed around your child’s strength areas, with a range of activities to enhance participation in meaningful and fun activities. The program operates from our Johns Street house in a safe and accessible environment.

This service is funded by the Commonwealth Government to provide Child Care Benefit to families.

Vacation/Holiday Care

The Vacation/Holiday Care Service operates from 9:00am to 5:00pm, during the term breaks for 7 to 10 weeks of the year.

A holiday program is designed around children’s strengths and their goals to access the community and attend local venues. The program commences and finishes at our Johns Street House, with the goal being to ensure that young people have the opportunity to participate in our communityThis service is funded by the Commonwealth Government to provide Child Care Benefit to families.

A Family/Parent Handbook is available which provides information on the operation of the Service and outlines parent, staff and child responsibilities.
